Hungarian Co-Producer, Big Turtle
Agnes started in the film industry in a film distribution company in 1994, where she worked as film and television program buyer in close connection with the various Hungarian television networks.
In 1997 she joined HBO-Spektrum TV/Hungary as chief editor. During this period, she was also editor of lifetime and travel documentaries. Agnes was responsible for the Hungarian version of all foreign movies aired on these two channels.
In 2000 she was invited by the Hungarian Television (Magyar Televizio) to be the head of film acquisitions. During this period she maintained contact with all the major international studios and distributors. It was during this time that she began collaborating with Peter Hegedus from Soul Vision Films, on several of his documentaries, namely Inheritance: A Fisherman's Story and Grandfathers and Revolutions.
Having established herself as a distributor in the international marketplace, Agnes set-up her own film distribution company and established TurtleFilm in 2005. At this time the Hungarian RTL Television asked Agnes to represent their catalogue of the Luxembourgian CLT-UFA in Eastern Europe.
Nowadays TurtleFilm represents several other catalogues, ie Magnolia Pictures and some Hungarian movies as well, in the region.
In 2007, Peter Hegedus approached Agnes to be the Hungarian co-producer of his new documentary, My America. Agnes then created Big Turtle Co. for the Hungarian part of the production of the film.
Besides distribution and production of films, Agnes also offers assistance to Hungarian film-making practitioners in their efforts to have their work shown on local Hungarian TV stations.
