Independent Producer and former ABC Television journalist Trish Lake is principal of Freshwater Pictures which she established in 2001 to pursue commercial and creative interests in film, TV, new media and publishing.
Trish specialises in feature films and cinema documentaries. While her films have won numerous nominations and awards, Trish herself won the prestigious SPAA Feature Film Producer of the Year Award for her award winning feature film Gettin' Square, directed by Jonathan Teplitsky, written by Chris Nyst and co-produced with Mushroom Pictures and Working Title.
Her credits include The Burning Season, narrated by Hugh Jackman and directed by colleague producer/director Cathy Henkel (selected for competition at Tribeca Film Festival, winner Best Documentary at the Australian IF Awards 2009), Rare Chicken Rescue (winner Best Documentary at the Sydney Film Festival) and the feature film Subdivision, directed by Sue Brooks and distributed by Walt Disney Studios.
Trish is currently producing another film with Cathy Henkel, the feature documentary Show Me the Magic -tracing the remarkable career of legendary Australian cinematography, Don McAlpine. While Freshwater has a full slate of both documentary and fiction titles in development, Trish is currently developing the feature film Red Earth with writer/director Liselle Mei, as well as the feature film Dance For Me which, written by Roger Monk, was selected for Screen NSW's prestigious 2010 Aurora Lab. Trish is a former National President of the Screen Producer's Association of Australia (SPAA).
